Anderson Lloyd's Green Home

When Anderson Lloyd moved into its Christchurch office at The Regent Building on Cathedral Square, the brief was to bring warmth and life to a professional space that staff and clients move through every day. Outside In was engaged to plant throughout reception, the breakout kitchen and the open-plan work floor, softening a sharp architectural fit-out without compromising its polish.

Rather than a generic, evenly-spaced layout, over 25 floor-standing planter clusters were hand-positioned through the main office — grouped for impact, scaled up in high-traffic areas, and placed lighter near the windows where natural light does more of the work. Kentia palms, Strelizia, Ficus Lyrata and Monstera anchor the clusters, underplanted with trailing Cordatum and Marble Queen for texture at every level.

Greenery in every corner

In the breakout kitchen, a custom-manufactured hanging planter rack trails pothos above the bench, bringing life to a space designed for staff to gather. At reception and the lift lobby, large-format planters of Strelizia and Asplenium nidus frame the entrance and the firm's signage, giving arriving clients and staff an immediate sense of calm.

For a firm with more than 180 partners and staff across offices in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown, the result is a Christchurch office that feels distinctly considered — inclusive of every team, generous with its greenery, and genuinely inviting people back into the workplace.
