Bold greenery for a bold interior
Kernel Wealth's Auckland office is a former food court turned design-led workplace — concrete, moody, and short on natural light. The challenge was bringing in bold, generous greenery that belonged in that space, installed in just two weeks for a media-covered opening.
Tall ficus trees, palms and bird of paradise plants sit in black cylinder planters, with ferns, monstera and trailing philodendron layering beneath them. A custom grow-light solution keeps everything thriving, integrated so cleanly into the existing lighting that it reads as part of the design.
The entertainment space, with greenery as the only other colour
Every surface in Kernel's entertainment area reads in one warm tone. Walls, carpet, seating, ceiling — all one colour. The only contrast is the planting. A custom inbuilt planter runs the full length of the banquette, packed with monstera, calathea and tropical foliage that glows under the ambient light and owns the room.
Plant-rack dividers zone the open plan, statement floor plants punctuate the corridors, and greenery runs all the way to the street frontage. Inside a concrete, low-light space, it works.
"The plants have made a noticeable difference to our office environment, creating a more welcoming and vibrant space for both our team and visitors. The Outside In team delivered a seamless installation and worked closely with us throughout the process. We're very happy with the result and the positive impact the greenery has had on our workplace!"
