Greenery as an architectural layer

The planting design at Commercial Bay responds directly to the material palette and structural detailing throughout the space, using layered greenery to soften hard architectural lines and introduce texture, depth and movement. Positioned amongst timber, stone and metal finishes, the greenery creates moments of contrast while remaining refined and cohesive within the broader design language.

Suspended planting and integrated planters were carefully considered to work with the vertical scale of the space, drawing the eye upward and enhancing the rhythm created by the surrounding architecture. Rather than acting as decoration, the greenery becomes part of the spatial experience itself.

Trailing plants cascade from each level of the brass mesh lift core in the Commercial Bay atrium.

Welcoming, calm, human-centred

<Within a busy retail and hospitality setting, greenery introduces softness and balance, helping to create moments of pause amongst the movement and energy of the precinct. Natural planting improves the overall experience for visitors by making spaces feel more comfortable, approachable and engaging.

A combination of trailing and upright tropical species creates depth and variation throughout the installation. Integrated planters and suspended greenery allow planting to become embedded within the architecture itself, with varied textures and tones creating a dynamic visual experience that changes with perspective, light and movement throughout the day.
