Culture and place, expressed

Warren and Mahoney worked in partnership with Aurecon and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to produce a workspace that creates a sense of place and embraces te ao Māori. The inspiring greenery we crafted supports the wellbeing of Aurecon's people and the company's hybrid and flexible work approach, reflecting a vision to help people be creative and cultivate connection.

Greenery at a generous scale

The scale of the green spaces throughout Te Tihi references the ancient super gardens once present in Tāmaki Makaurau. Planting adds points of interest that complement bespoke features including the taurapa (waka stern) central timber staircase. Green spaces help define the different areas within the building, while clusters of freestanding planters filled with mature specimens add lush texture throughout.

In desk areas, bespoke plant troughs and racks delineate working zones, creating green screens that centre people in nature. Exposed structural columns are softened with wall-mounted planters. Spaces dedicated to wairua, such as wellness and prayer rooms, are enlivened with plant racks - bringing calm, tranquillity, and a harmonious working environment to every corner of this multi award-winning workplace.
